Ladies and gentlemen, back by popular demand, it’s time for another round of “caption this.”

The game is fairly simple, as you hopefully know by now. We supply the photo and you bring the witty reader-submitted captions. You might not win any cool prizes, but you’ll be formally recognized for being better than your peers and will get some love here on the blog.

Here’s our humble offering on this photo of Washington Redskins linebacker Chris Wilson and New England Patriots quarterback Kevin O’Connell to get folks started:

“Bitch please.

[Editor’s note: The winner is Califan007 with a caption of, And with one slap of the hand, Chris Wilson ends the NFL dreams of the fat kid from ‘Stand By Me.’ Thanks to everyone who contributed. Let’s do it again next week.]

We here at Homer McFanboy highly encourage fan participation. Whether you agree or disagree with something you come across on the site, we always enjoy hearing back from fellow sports fans. So when I learned that Park City Skins had taken my photo of “The Predator” Chris Horton and had a little fun with it, well, I felt obligated to share it with the class.

So instead of coming up with a witty caption to accompany one of my photos, I thought it would be fun to switch it up a little and challenge the masses to think up a tagline for the movie poster shown above. As always, you might not win any cool prizes, but you’ll be formally recognized for being better than your peers and will get some love here on the blog.

Here’s my humble offering to get folks started:

“Still ain’t got time to bleed.”

Or maybe the humorous route is better:

“Horton Picks Off Who!”

Think you can do better? Leave a comment below with your best caption.

[Editor’s note: The winner is Joel, with a caption of, “To catch (like) a Predator.” Thanks to everyone who contributed.]

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time again for the game that is sweeping the nation – caption this.

Three times we’ve played the game (here, here and here), and each time we’ve had great reader-submitted captions and participation, so let’s keep up the good work. You might not win any cool prizes, but you’ll be formally recognized for being better than your peers and will get some love here on the blog.

Here’s my humble offering to get folks started:

Redskins owner Daniel Snyder pitches his idea for a “morning zoo” radio show featuring head coach Jim Zorn and offensive line coach Joe Bugel on ESPN980.

[Editor’s note: The winner is Paige, with a caption of, “I don’t care how good he was in Mission Impossible, we’re not putting Tom Cruise in at punt returns!” Thanks to everyone who contributed.]

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for everyone’s favorite game – caption this.

Twice before we’ve played the game (here and here), and both times we’ve had strong turnouts and solid reader-submitted captions. So let’s keep the streak alive. You might not win any cool prizes, but you’ll be formally recognized for being better than your peers and will get some love here on the blog.

Here’s my humble offering to get folks started:

“You know what? I think we’ve really got a chance to catch the Saints with their pants down today. I should remember to post that on my blog later.”

Think you can do better? Leave a comment below with your best caption.

(And for those individuals who are completely lost, here’s a link that might help explain my caption).

[Update: We have a winner, and his name is Jimbo. “Oh well, at least MY ‘blog’ is bigger than Murf’s.” Thanks, as always, to everyone for playing along.]

caption this: the sequel

Let me first take a moment to say welcome to the brand-new Homer McFanboy website. It’s been a process getting everything up and running and I’ve really had to call in help from a few friends and family members who are smarter than I am, but we’re here.

Hopefully this can be a place to help folks kill some time while not being productive at their respective places of employment. This isn’t just a blog about me. Reader feedback is strongly encouraged. Fan participation is a must, if we’re going to make the most out of this opportunity and my access. If there’s a player you want to know more about or something you don’t think I’ve gotten right, then by all means, drop me a line and say so. We’re all in this together.

Now, with that out of the way, I invite you all to play along with the second “caption this” contest. (Who could forget the first ‘caption this’ contest?) You might not win any cool prizes, but you at least get to be one of the cool kids and will get some love here on the blog.

Here’s my humble offering:

Redskins offensive lineman Jason Fabini sits in ‘time out’ after calling Todd Collins a product of Al Saunders’ system.

Think you can do better? Leave a comment below with your best caption.

[Update: We have a winner, and his name is Joel. “Nothing clears the Redskins bench faster than when Jason Fabini explains in detail why he chose the jersey number 69.” Thanks, as always, to everyone for playing along.]

Today seems to be a slow news day, so just for the heck of it, I invite you all to provide your best caption for this photo I took last year just before halftime of the Washington Redskins-Chicago Bears game at FedEx Field.

I’ll get us started with my humble offering:

“When I said let’s play dress up, this is NOT what I had in mind!”

or how about:

“Don Breaux and Billy Baldwin have a friendship like no other.”

[Update: We have a winner. Milhouse44 takes ‘best in show’ with the following caption: “The Fed Ex Field fans don’t know to shut up on offensive 3rd Downs and they just started ‘The Wave’ in the Upper Deck…..just take me home Rudolph.” Thanks to everyone for the creative comments. We’ll have to do this again.]
