A push on a defensemen in that position is the equivalent of a push on a subway platform. You could be all right if the train isn’t coming or in this case if the rink had no boards, but it isn’t an excuse.

1) Its how he plays; to ask him to change that would only make him hesitant, and take away his effectiveness, and possibly

2) It might get him injured. When players start second-guessing themselves, that’s when they get hurt.

This was a simple case of Ovechkin is big and strong, and the Hawk’s DMan was not as big or strong. That’s it. It was an unfortunate hit, and Ovie probably shouldn’t have pushed him, but hockey players push each other. As much as I hate agreeing with Milbury, this ain’t squash.

Campbell being Ovechkined is overshadowing the fact Mike Knuble looked pissed on the OT goal because he was all alone on the right side of the goal and Backstrom didn’t pass it. You can see the one-trillionth of a second frown before he lifted his arms because he realized he has to be a team player. I’m just saying….
