Interesting reading, and I like the story title. Lets hope the skins make their decisions based on play and not politics.

From everything we have seen since minicamp, Rayner has a stronger leg. And whenever we've seen the two kickers square off in a head-to-head drill (like, for example, at fan appreciation day), Rayner wins.

Now, we're not there every single day. And coaches know what they're looking for more than one random sports blog. We'd just rather see them go with the guy who has looked better when we've been on the sidelines, and who can consistently land his kickoffs near the goal line rather than the 5 or 10.

If those don't sound good to you, then that's okay too. Unlike others out there, we don't need everyone to agree with our personal opinions. All of this becomes moot as soon as the final 53-man roster is released.

Only had access to radio play-by-play, but Larry Micheal said Mitchell was held on the first endzone pass, so Chase MAY have actually thrown 3 TD passes to get one. Also, Mitchell dropped a pass on Chase's first series which Sonny J. said hit him in the hands and he should haave caught, so no telling where that drive would have ended. Having said all that, I think they will keep the wrong(IMO) guy, i.e., Brennan.

Your rationale for keeping Rayner over Suisham is laughable. Granted, Suisham struggled mightily beyond the forty yard line, but it has been well documented that a poor holder can greatly affect a kicker's performance, and I believe that's what happened. Suisham has won games for us in the past, and I think he can again. I do agree that his kickoffs leave a lot to be desired (hey, I didn't say he was a great kicker), but I feel more comfortable with him kicking field goals than I do with a guy who kicked one field goal last year.

Nah, one of those guys signed on with an Italian Footlocker, so don't say there was no opposing talent.

...then he'll finally have one in a real NFL game against the same caliber defense that James Thrash faced in those 165 games, and not a bunch of guys who are selling shoes down at the local Foot Locker.
