I think the best part about this post is his fondest memory…something that hasn’t even happened yet! Wow, it’s as if he’s appreciative of his position in the sports world!

Hot Bucci love is better than no love at all…and the Caps had quite a dry spell!! But they made the tough decisions a few years ago to get where they are today and it’s nice to be recognized for it!!

John Buccigross is a pencil-neck. Everything he knows about hockey has been visited upon him in the last 5 years or so. He is not funny, witty, nor insightful. His alternative-rock band name obsession was cloying the second time he did it, now it’s just another stale leftover from the Bristol comedy club.

Heck, he doesn’t even know who Rod Langway is, let alone his career highlights. Do you think he is even aware of the existence of Bengt Gustafsson? He might have heard of Al Iafrate, but not while the player was active.
He made hockey his pet project because of the dearth of alternative commentators. He would have to get in line to be a baseball or football commentator. He made frequent mistakes during his term at the “NHL Tonight”.

By contrast, John Saunders knows hockey and should spend more time covering it. Bucci should stick with his top-40, frat-boy, aspiring stand-up comedian routine only in the context of general sports anchoring. He is underqualified to speak as an expert on this sport.

Remember “On the Fly” from Versus? It was a CBC hockey wrap-up show that was done properly. It was about hockey, not a showcase for overgrown class clowns who feel that their irreverence is more important than the game.
